If you love the elegance and opulence of Far Eastern furniture, but baulk at the cost of original antiques make a bee-line for specialist Orchid’s annual winter sale.

Gems from their latest sale include a nine-drawer chest with a distressed aquamarine finish, dating from 1870, half price at £847. 

Other delights include a meticulously painted floral Elm wood sideboard (c1910) which is down from £1895 to £1326, a whopping £569 saving.

There is also a selection of ceramic glazed lamps, with up to half price off, plus  antique pottery and sculpture aplenty.

Whilst the price tags of originals pieces are not for the faint hearted, lovers of authentic Far Eastern design will relish the chance to snap up a piece of Chinese history with significant reductions on what you would usually expect to pay in the UK.  For those looking to get the look for less, there is also a great selection of faithful replicas.
