Like most Brits, we at Homes & Bargains pine for the shimmer and sangria of summer, so we were delighted to spend a winter’s day previewing Tesco’s garden and outdoor line for 2012. With bright pops of colour and ultra fun accents, the year’s latest looks had us humming Here Comes the Sun!

Hot Brittania
With the Queen’s Jubilee and the London Olympics, this summer is the UK’s moment in the international spotlight. And the British pride is spilling over into interiors, where Cool Britannia is kicking off like never before. From cheeky beefeater cushions to Union Jack platters piled with Victoria Sponge, there’s no better time to show Britain the love.

With a twist, please
The warmer months are always welcomed with splashes of colour, but this year citrus and neon hues shine even brighter than ever. Lanterns and glassware in lemons and limes are accented with juicy bowls of their edible namesakes, and shades of cerise and robin’s egg blue pop up in garden accessories like wheelbarrows and barbecues.

 
Over the top tea
At Homes & Bargains we were especially tempted by Tesco’s voluptuous spread of summer puds, and just as tempting were the ornate tea services they adorned!  We love the fine detailing and gilt accents of the latest china sets, paired with charming shabby chic bunting and wire bird cages.

Chic solutions
Aside from lovely accessories, the new line is also filled with savvy solutions for small spaces and green aficionados. A beehive composter seamlessly blends with lush surroundings, and clever dining sets have chairs that stow away under the table, perfect for those with limited square footage.
